Customer-centric: Hangyu Xing's Journey in Independently Developing Smart Electronic Temperature-Pressure Compensation Meters

Hanyu Xing was the first in the industry to introduce the first electronic temperature-compensated diaphragm gas meter. In 2015, it became the first in China to receive the Type Approval Certificate for an "Electronic Temperature-Compensated (Compensation) Diaphragm Gas Meter." Building on this success, Hanyu Xing further enhanced the product in 2016 by incorporating pressure compensation functionality, giving birth to the company’s first-generation "Intelligent Electronic Temperature-Pressure Compensation Meter." Since its launch, this innovative product has garnered widespread acclaim from both the market and customers—particularly those in northern regions. Extensive field trials across various areas, such as Hebei Province, clearly demonstrated the meter’s exceptional compensation performance. For instance, during the region’s transition from coal to gas, indoor-mounted meters achieved a compensation rate of approximately 3%–5%, while outdoor-mounted units showed even higher efficiency, with compensation rates reaching around 8%–12%.
For a company that has been dedicated to the metrology industry for five decades, Hangyu Xing’s growth has always been driven by its core competitive advantage: "leading product technology and continuous innovation." Throughout Hangyu Xing’s journey, several groundbreaking innovations launched at critical junctures have cemented the company’s past successes. As a midstream manufacturer in the energy supply chain—specializing in the production of meters—Hangyu Xing frequently draws inspiration from the market demands and pain points of downstream gas companies, which in turn propel its R&D team to continually refine and upgrade its products.
For a long time, the discrepancy between gas production, sales, and transportation (commonly referred to as "gas loss") has been a critical challenge hindering the operational management of gas companies. To address this industry-wide pain point, Hangyu Xing established a dedicated R&D team as early as 2011. Over the years, the team conducted extensive data surveys and analyzed the root causes of gas loss in more than ten cities across China, each with distinct climatic conditions and environmental settings. Their findings revealed that, in line with national standards for natural gas metering and settlement, incorporating temperature and pressure compensation can significantly reduce measurement errors—thereby enhancing the accuracy of gas metering systems.

Since 2011, Hangyu Xing has been focusing on researching gas-loss issues. In 2013, the company became the first in the industry to introduce an electronic temperature-corrected diaphragm gas meter. By 2015, Hangyu Xing had earned the nation’s first type-approval certificate in this specialized field.
In 2016, after several rounds of product refinement and upgrades, Hangyu Xing officially launched its first-generation "Smart Electronic Temperature-Pressure Compensation Meter." That same year, the company once again secured the type-approval certificate for its "Smart Electronic Temperature-Pressure Corrected Diaphragm Gas Meter," while also establishing full in-house production capabilities for all core components and complete meters. Within a short span, Hangyu Xing achieved exclusive domestic manufacturing in this space, solidifying its leading position within the industry.
By 2017, Hangyu Xing’s smart electronic temperature-pressure compensation meters began making waves in international markets, gaining recognition across regions such as South America, Africa, and Russia.
In 2018, Hangyu Xing’s "Smart Electronic Temperature-Pressure Corrected Diaphragm Gas Meter" was honored as a "Specialized, Sophisticated, and Novel" product by Liaoning Province.
In 2019, under Hangyu Xing’s leadership, related companies in the industry jointly drafted and formulated the industry standard titled "Electronic Temperature-Pressure Corrected Diaphragm Gas Meter."
In October 2020, the China City Gas Association officially implemented T/CGAS 011-2020, the group standard spearheaded by Hangyu Xing—titled "Electronic Temperature-Pressure Corrected Diaphragm Gas Meter." Later that year, Hangyu Xing’s project, "Research and Development of a Remote Smart Electronic Temperature-Pressure Corrected Diaphragm Gas Meter and Its IoT System," was recognized as a key science and technology R&D initiative under Shenyang City’s "Double Hundred Project." Additionally, Hangyu Xing was awarded the title of "Top 100 Innovative Private Enterprises in Shenyang" for its technological advancements.
Fast forward to 2021, gas safety once again drew widespread societal attention. In response to growing concerns about safe gas usage, Hangyu Xing introduced its latest "Safety-Oriented" temperature-pressure compensation meter. This innovative product not only enhances public gas safety but also supports smart city development by offering customers more advanced "IoT-enabled" solutions.
Currently, more than a decade has passed since Hangyu Xing first focused on addressing gas-loss issues and launched its first-generation temperature- and pressure-compensated meter. During this time, the product has undergone several iterative upgrades to enhance its functionality—evolving from unmeasured gas usage to precise measurement, and from averaging readings regardless of temperature or pressure fluctuations to delivering real-time, accurate measurements based on actual temperature and pressure conditions. This groundbreaking innovation directly addresses the pain points faced by both customers and the industry. After years of practical application, it has already generated significant benefits for gas companies—both domestically and internationally. Looking ahead, Hangyu Xing will remain committed to its core business philosophy: "Creating value for our customers." By doing so, we aim to establish a fair, transparent, and equitable trading platform that benefits both users and gas suppliers alike.
