From May 23 to 27, 2022, the 28th World Gas Conference (WGC2022), hosted by the International Gas Union (IGU) and the Korea Gas Union (KGU), took place in Daegu, South Korea. Shui Fa Hangyu Xing made a strong return to the event, showcasing its advanced smart energy IoT solutions, ultrasonic metering instrument solutions, and comprehensive integrated solutions for building smart gas cities.
From May 23 to 27, 2022, the 28th World Gas Conference (WGC2022), hosted by the International Gas Union (IGU) and the Korea Gas Union (KGU), took place in Daegu, South Korea. The conference brought together the entire natural gas supply chain, drawing representatives from over 300 companies across more than 90 countries. It covered every segment of the gas industry, featured an exhibition space exceeding 40,000 square meters, and attracted nearly 10,000 international visitors from around the globe.
Shuifa Hangyu Xing made a strong comeback at the exhibition, showcasing its cutting-edge smart energy IoT solutions, ultrasonic metering instrument solutions, and comprehensive smart gas city construction solutions. A large group of expert attendees from around the globe gathered at Shuifa Hangyu Xing's booth to explore the company’s products and demonstrations, engaging in lively discussions and negotiations with the company’s on-site experts—making the booth a vibrant highlight of the event.
The theme of WGC2022 was "A Sustainable Future Powered by Natural Gas." During the conference, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, emphasizing that energy has now become a critical driver of global economic growth, and a stable energy supply is a major engine propelling a nation's economic development. Yoon underscored that, in order to reduce carbon emissions, the South Korean government will significantly expand investments in research and technology development, demonstrating its commitment and playing an active role in achieving the country’s carbon neutrality goals.
At the conclusion of the conference, on May 27, during the International Gas Union Presidential Transition Ceremony at the 28th World Gas Conference, Ms. Li Yalan, Chairwoman of Beijing Gas Group, officially assumed her role as President of the International Gas Union for the 2022–2025 term. This marks the first time the International Gas Union has been led by a Chinese woman. Beijing will also host the 29th World Gas Conference in 2025. In her inaugural speech, Ms. Li emphasized that over the next three years, the organization will further enhance its global influence, creating greater value for the gas industry and ensuring that gas occupies a pivotal position within the modern energy system. She highlighted the critical role gas will play in safeguarding energy security and driving the energy transition. Meanwhile, the Shuifa Hangyuxing team was invited to join the Chinese delegation on stage to warmly welcome colleagues from across the global gas industry to gather in Beijing in 2025.
