From March 25 to 26, the China Metrology Association held the "2023 National Standard Procedures and Outline Promotion Meeting for Ultrasonic Gas Meters (Session 1)" in Tianjin. As one of the key drafting units of the "Outline for Type Evaluation of Ultrasonic Gas Meters," Hangyu Xing was invited to attend the event, where it joined industry representatives, technical experts, and practitioners to discuss, exchange ideas, and share valuable experiences.
To further strengthen the guiding role of standards and regulations and promote the standardized development of the ultrasonic gas meter industry, the China Metrology Association held the "2023 National Standard Procedures and Outline Promotion Meeting for Ultrasonic Gas Meters (Session 1)" in Tianjin from March 25 to 26. Over 90 representatives from member units of the China Metrology Association and the Gas Meter Working Committee, as well as related organizations within the gas industry, attended the event. As one of the key drafting units of the "Ultrasonic Gas Meter Type Evaluation Outline," Hangyu Xing was invited to participate, joining industry stakeholders, technical experts, and practitioners to engage in discussions, share insights, and exchange valuable experiences.
At the meeting, experts from the China Metrology Association and key drafting organizations of the guideline outlines provided clear and insightful interpretations of the industry standards. Attendees unanimously expressed that these standard dissemination sessions have significantly deepened their understanding of the comprehensive regulatory framework for ultrasonic gas meters. This year, with the release and implementation of the national standard GB/T 39841-2021 "Ultrasonic Gas Meters," along with the national metrological verification regulation JJG1190-2022 "Ultrasonic Gas Meters" and the technical specification JJF 2012-2022 "Outline for Type Evaluation of Ultrasonic Gas Meters," the China Metrology Association plans to conduct multiple nationwide outreach activities aimed at gas meter manufacturers. These initiatives will continue to promote the standardization, guidance, and evaluation processes for ultrasonic gas meters across the industry.
During the meeting, Jiang Xinren, Assistant Chief Engineer at Hangyu Xing, delivered a keynote speech on the "Ultra-Sonic Sensor Module." He shared valuable insights into the company's experience in developing and designing core components—such as ultrasonic gas meters' measurement modules and sensors—for domestic production. He emphasized that with the implementation of the national standard for ultrasonic gas meters and the growing real-world applications of these meters in the market over recent years, the full localization of ultrasonic gas meter technology will be significantly accelerated.
Since 2009, Hangyu Xing has been strategically investing in the research and development as well as experimentation of ultrasonic metering instruments. Notably, its fully independently developed "domestically produced ultrasonic metering module" can now replace the industry-standard, predominantly imported "foreign" metering modules—effectively addressing the critical issue of being "stuck" in core technologies. Additionally, the company has secured multiple patent certifications in areas such as flow channel design, transducer packaging, core circuit boards, and embedded software algorithms, positioning it at an advanced level both domestically and internationally in this field.
HANGYU XINGWU was one of the primary drafting units for JJF 2012-2022, the "Outline for Type Evaluation of Ultrasonic Gas Meters," and has participated multiple times in local verification activities. Development of regulations, industry standards, and national standards. Moving forward, Hangyu Xing will collaborate closely with industry organizations and leading manufacturers to continuously refine the technical standard system, jointly supporting the establishment and advancement of ultrasonic gas industry standards.
